Saudi Arabia allocates fund to import sugar

Riyadh: Considering the impact of Coronavirus pandemic, Saudi Arabia has allocated 2 billion riyals to import agriculture products. It will be carried out through a mixture of direct and indirect loans.

According to a statement by the country’s agriculture development fund, Saudi Arabia in the first phase will import sugar, rice, soyabeans and yellow corn. Depending upon the need of the market, other products will be added.

There is a shortage of essential food items in many countries due to Covid-19. Countries are working to ensure that they should not face a shortage of any item. Therefore they are in the process of collecting them.
