Brazil registers hike in sugar exports in April

According to the media report, Brazil has witnessed a hike in the sugar export to 1.9 million metric tonnes of sugar, up by 25.7 per cent in April as compared to the same month in 2020 but down by 3.62 per cent from March 2021.

Revenue from sugar exports in April increased by 38.5 per cent to US$ 615.6 million from the same month last year. However, the revenue fell by 3.83 per cent when compared with March.

As per broker and analyst StoneX, Sugar output in Brazil’s 2021-22 center-south region is expected to be around 567 to 578 million tonnes, lower than the earlier projection of 586 million tonnes.
