Sugar mills in the Kolhapur region are operating with their full capacity in the ongoing crushing season. The region has reported an average 10 per cent recovery so far.
According to the data released by the Sugar Commissionerate, the sugar mills have produced 37.79 lakh quintal sugar by crushing 37.80 lakh tonne sugarcane till November 20 with a recovery rate of 10 per cent.
As many as 147 sugar mills in the state have started cane crushing operations including 73 cooperative and 74 private. These mills have produced 122.6 lakh quintal sugar by crushing 138.87 lakh tonne sugarcane with an average recovery rate of 8.83 per cent.
