Nepalgunj: Nepal police raided Nandani Sugar Mill in Nepalgunj Sub-metropolis-1 and recovered as many as 520 sacks of sugar weighing 50 kg per sack.
The price of seized sugar is around Rs 1.8 million. The raid was conducted by police teams from the District Police Office, Banke, and the Lumbini Province Police Office at around 7 pm on Friday.
The seized material has been sent to Nepalgunj Custom Office for further investigation.
The operator of the Nandani Mills has told the police that the sugar kept on the premises belonged to someone else and the police had declared the seized commodity ‘unclaimed’.
