The Indian headline indices, Sensex and Nifty, closed Friday’s trading session in the green.
Sensex ended 769.09 points higher at 81,721.08, whereas Nifty concluded 243.45 points up at 24,853.15.
Among the top gainers from the Sensex 30 pack were Eternal, ITC, Power Grid, Bajaj Finserv, Axis Bank, and Adani Ports, all of which contributed to the benchmark indices closing in the green.
On the flip side, Sun Pharma and Bharti Airtel emerged as the key laggards in today’s trade in the Sensex 30 pack , putting some pressure on the otherwise upbeat market sentiment.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 644.64 points lower at 80,951.99, whereas Nifty concluded 203.75 points down at 24,609.70.
