Domestic sugar prices were stable to higher
Domestic sugar prices in India have shown steady to a slight increase today, with notable price rises of Rs 10-20 per quintal reported in key states such as Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh. Over the last four to five sessions, prices have surged by approximately Rs 100-120 per quintal, fueled primarily by a lower monthly release quota imposed by the government. This controlled supply, amid strong demand ahead of the festive season, has supported a rally in spot markets.
M-grade sugar is currently selling between Rs 4,000 and Rs 4,080 per quintal in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, while S-grade sugar prices in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, range from Rs 3,840 to Rs 3,880 per quintal.
