Domestic sugar prices were stable to weak
Domestic sugar prices in major markets have reported to be stable to weak. Prices were reported lower by Rs 5 per quintal in the major markets of Maharashtra and Karnataka. As per the market sources, sellers are reluctant to liquidate as monthly quota is due in the coming week. If the quota is expected to remain lower then there are chances that prices to rally.
On weather front, much needed respite is reported over major cane growing belts with good sunshine which is likely to support the crop development. Forecast indicates moderate rains from last week which should be helpful for better crop development.
Currently, M-grade sugar is priced between ₹3,970 and ₹4,070 per quintal in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, while S-grade sugar is quoted at ₹3,845 to ₹3,885 per quintal in Kolhapur, Maharashtra.
