After a brief rise for a session, sugar prices in the major domestic markets were reported to be weak by Rs 5-10 per quintal. Prices are trading at multi year high on lower available stocks and expected delay in start of crushing especially over Karnataka. As festivals are lined up in the coming months, demand is expected to remain good supporting the prices.

In Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, M-grade sugar is trading between ₹3,950 and ₹4,040 per quintal, while in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, S-grade sugar is quoted in the range of ₹3,850 to ₹3,890 per quintal.
