Bihar is gearing up for a major phase of industrial growth with plans to set up 25 new sugar mills and attract investments worth Rs. 50 lakh crore, State BJP President and Industries Minister Dr. Dilip Jaiswal announced on Wednesday. He was addressing journalists at the BJP district office in Purnea.
Jaiswal said districts with extensive sugarcane cultivation would be given priority for the proposed mills. He also said the state government is examining the possibility of bringing a semiconductor manufacturing unit to Bihar, reported Dainik Jagran.
Stating that the government aims to create a strong industrial network across the state, Jaiswal said the focus is on expanding employment opportunities in both urban and rural areas. “The plan is not limited to large industries. We are working towards developing industries at the grassroots level and creating jobs for everyone,” he said. He added that micro, small and local industries will receive special assistance from the government.
Speaking about the recent election results, Jaiswal said the people of Bihar had once again given the NDA a decisive mandate.
Jaiswal also held a review meeting with party workers from Bhagalpur, Kosi and districts under the Purnea division, during which a resolution was passed to work more closely in the coming months. He praised BJP workers for their efforts during the election campaign.
He said the “double-engine government” is committed to enforcing the rule of law, making Bihar safer and boosting employment through skill development and industries linked to agriculture.
Sadar MLA Vijay Khemka, BJP District President Manoj Singh and other senior party leaders were also present during the interaction.
