Ukraine’s leading sugar producer, Astarta agro-industrial holding, announced that its five sugar factories generated 361,000 tons of sugar during the 2025 season—a 5% decline compared to the 380,000 tons produced in 2024, according to the company’s press service on Facebook.
Despite the reduction in overall output, sugar yield improved, reaching 15.56% this season versus 14.96% in 2024, surpassing the national average of 15.19% reported by the National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine (NASU) as of January 1, 2026.
The holding processed over 2.3 million tons of sugar beets sourced both from its own fields and through partnerships with other agricultural producers. “The season was characterized by high-quality sugar that meets the strictest market standards,” the company noted.
This season marked a milestone for Astarta: it was the 26th sugar processing campaign in the company’s history and the 168th season for its Zhdanivsky sugar factory.
Astarta is a fully integrated agro-industrial group operating across eight regions in Ukraine. Its portfolio includes six sugar factories, agricultural lands totaling 220,000 hectares, dairy farms housing 22,000 cattle, an oil extraction plant in Hlobine (Poltava region), seven grain elevators, and a biogas facility.
Financially, the holding faced a challenging year. From January to September 2025, net profit fell 42.2% to €43.70 million, while consolidated revenue dropped 22.4% to €342.78 million.
