Saurabh Dwivedi will be taking charge of the new Hindi edition of The Indian Express that aims to reach out to Hindi-speaking audience. He will be looking after editorial content, video programmes and the e-paper, according to the various media reports.
Dwivedi recently stepped down from the India Today Group after nearly 12 years, where he last served as the founding editor of The Lallantop and editor of India Today Hindi. During his tenure, The Lallantop carved out a strong presence in Hindi digital journalism and built a close connect with younger audiences.
He announced his departure from the group through two posts on X on January 5, expressing gratitude for his time at The Lallantop and indicating that he would take a brief break before deciding on his next professional move. In a subsequent post, he shared a photograph along with a Hindi verse, suggesting the beginning of a new phase in his career.
Dwivedi began his journey with the India Today Group as a features editor at AajTak.in and later co-founded The Lallantop along with Kamlesh Singh. Following his exit, India Today Group vice chairperson Kalli Purie acknowledged his contribution, noting that he played a key role in shaping The Lallantop into a leading digital platform for young audiences in Hindi-speaking regions.
She said Dwivedi’s work and leadership had been a source of pride for the organisation and added that his decision to move on was driven by his wish to explore new creative opportunities beyond the group.
