Mawana Sugars Limited has informed stock exchanges that its Nanglamal Sugar Complex (NSC) has received a ₹90,000 penalty notice from the Office of the Additional Excise Commissioner (Administration), Uttar Pradesh, related to alcohol recovery levels.
In a regulatory filing dated February 23, 2026, the company said the notice was issued under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
According to the disclosure, the authority stated that the recovery percentage of alcohol from molasses-based fermentable sugar at the Nanglamal Sugar Complex’s distillery division was found to be lower than the prescribed limit for the period 2019–22.
The department has imposed a penalty of ₹45,000 for the alleged shortfall in recovery. In addition, ₹45,000 has been recovered from the company’s performance security amount, taking the total financial impact to ₹90,000.
The company stated that it received the communication dated February 23, 2026, and disclosed the details in accordance with regulatory requirements. No further action or additional financial implications were mentioned in the filing.
Mawana Sugars said the information is being provided to shareholders and market participants as part of its compliance obligations.
