Sensex gains 640 points; Nifty closes above 24,250

Indian benchmark indices rebounded on March 10 as oil prices declined, with the Sensex gaining 639.82 points and the Nifty rising 233.55 points.

The BSE Sensex closed at 78,205.98, while the Nifty 50 ended at 24,261.60.

Top Nifty gainers included Shriram Finance, InterGlobe Aviation, Eicher Motors, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, and M&M, while the losers were Infosys, Eternal, Bharti Airtel, TCS, and Reliance Industries.

The Indian rupee closed at 91.80 per US dollar on Tuesday, compared with the previous close of 92.33.

In the previous trading session, the Sensex had settled at 77,566.16, while the Nifty closed at 24,028.05.
