Bangladesh: Two Natore sugar mills produce 3,360 tonnes of sugar in ongoing season

Two sugar mills in Natore have produced a total of 3,360 tonnes of sugar so far this season after crushing 83,633 tonnes of sugarcane, reported New Age.

According to official data, North Bengal Sugar Mills Ltd. in Gopalpur has crushed 54,425 tonnes of sugarcane over 34 days of operation, resulting in the production of 2,760 tonnes of sugar.

Meanwhile, Natore Sugar Mills Ltd., located in Sadar upazila, has produced 600 tonnes of sugar by crushing 29,208 tonnes of sugarcane during 20 days of crushing.

North Bengal Sugar Mills Ltd. began its crushing operations on 7 November with a seasonal target of processing 200,000 tonnes of sugarcane and producing 13,000 tonnes of sugar. Its Managing Director, Mohammad Farid Hossain Bhuiyan, said the sugar recovery rate has been satisfactory and expressed confidence that the mill would meet its production target by the end of the season.

Natore Sugar Mills Ltd. started its 42nd crushing season on 21 November, setting a target to crush 110,000 tonnes of sugarcane and produce 6,930 tonnes of sugar. Managing Director Md. Ekhlasur Rahman said the mill is working to ensure the efficient use of all production inputs to achieve its goal.
