A delegation from the Bihar Ethanol Association met with Pankaj Jain, Secretary of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, at Kartavya Bhawan in New Delhi to discuss the challenges and ongoing crisis facing Bihar’s ethanol industry, reported Dainik Bhaskar.
During the meeting, the delegation raised key issues concerning the unfair treatment of Bihar’s ethanol plants by Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), inequities in quota distribution, and the difficulties confronting industrial units that have invested in the state.
The representatives expressed concern over the production crisis affecting 14 ethanol plants in Bihar and urged the central government to adopt a fair and supportive policy for ethanol investors in the state.
Ajay Kumar Singh, Chairman and Managing Director of Bharat Plus Group of Companies, said that necessity is the mother of invention, and every positive effort bears fruit in time. Industrialists in Bihar have made a significant contribution to the Ethanol Mission, and now they look forward to appropriate support from the government.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with the ministry assuring the delegation that it would consider the issues and suggestions presented.
