Gonda, Uttar Pradesh: A case has been registered against the unit head and two senior officials of the sugar mill for failing to pay sugarcane dues to farmers, despite selling sugar and molasses. The secretary of the Gonda Cooperative Cane Development Committee has filed the case, citing outstanding payments totaling ₹1.87 billion, reported Dainik Jagran.
Ram Milan, Secretary of the Cooperative Cane Development Committee, Gonda, stated that the Kunderkhi sugar mill has not yet paid the full cane price for the 2024–25 crushing season. Despite repeated notices issued by the Cane Commissioner, District Magistrate, District Cane Officer, and Deputy Cane Commissioner, the mill has not cleared the dues.
Due to the mill’s failure to make payments, farmers are facing financial difficulties, leading to widespread dissatisfaction in the community.
