Coastal Corporation’s subsidiary secures Rs 361.73 crore ethanol supply order from Reliance Jio BP and OMCs

Coastal Biotech Private Limited, subsidiary of Coastal Corporation Limited, has been awarded a contract worth around Rs 361.73 crore for supplying 45,441 kiloliters of ethanol to oil marketing companies(OMCs) – Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) and 11,080 kiloliters of ethanol to Reliance Jio BP.

In an exchange filing, the company informed that Coastal Biotech Private Limited subsidiary of Coastal Corporation Limited had participated in a tender (Tender Ref. No. L00042332 C1/22376 dt.23.49.2025) floated by Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) under EBPP for Ethanol Supply Year (ESY 25-26) at their various locations across the country and the Company has been allocated with a quantity of 45,441 of Kiloliters of Ethanol. Also participated in a tender (Reference offer No. 9503411 dt. 23.09.2025) floated by Reliance Jio BP under EBPP for ESY 25-26 and the company has been allocated with a quantity of 11,080 Kiloliters of ethanol having an estimated combined order value of approx. Rs.361,73,44,000/- (Excl. GST) for (ESY 25-26).

Following the announcement, the Coastal Corporation shares hit 20 per cent upper circuit on BSE at Rs. 44.76 per share.

The OMCs have allocated around 1048 crore liters of ethanol against 1776 crore liters of offers submitted by manufacturers across the country for ESY 2025-26 – Cycle 1. OMCs had invited tenders for the supply of 1050 crore liters of ethanol for ESY 2025-26.

In the given allocation, maize holds the largest share at 45.68 percent (around 478.9 crore liters), followed by FCI rice at 22.25 percent (around 233.3 crore litres), sugarcane juice at 15.82 percent (around 165.9 crore liters), B Heavy Molasses at 10.54 percent (around 110.5 crore liters), damaged food grains at 4.54 percent (around 47.6 crore liters), and C Heavy Molasses at 1.16 percent (around 12.2 crore liters).

During the ongoing ESY 2024–25, OMCs have received a total of 904.84 crore litres of ethanol from November to September. The total contracted quantity was 1131.70 crore litres. Of this, 598.14 crore litres of ethanol have been sourced from grains, while sugar-based feedstocks have contributed 306.70 crore litres.
