Domestic Market
Domestic sugar price traded lower

Domestic sugar prices traded lower across the markets and reported lower by Rs 10-30 per quintal across major markets. After a sharp rise, on the news of increase in sugar MSP initially and reports of lower sugar production, particularly from Maharashtra and Karnataka, prices in the spot markets quoted lower today.

In Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, M-grade sugar was quoted in the range of ₹4,030–₹4,140 per quintal, lower by Rs 20-30 per quintal compared to the previous session. Meanwhile, in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, S-grade sugar traded at ₹3,690–₹3,780 per quintal, lower by Rs 10-20 per quintal versus the last session.

International Market

At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #The 5 front month contract is trading at $413.30 ton, whereas the New York Sugar # 11 The front month contract is trading at 14.51 c/lb. The corn futures market trades at 426-6 and the ethanol Chicago trades at 1.58250s.

Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices

The rupee traded against the US dollar at 90.185 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 5.2608 Crude WTI traded at $62.44 a barrel. Sensex closed 2,772.67 points up at 83,739.13 whereas Nifty closed 639.15 points higher at 25,727.55.
