Domestic Market
Domestic sugar prices were stable to weak
Domestic sugar prices were reported to be stable or weak in the major markets. Prices remained steady in Maharashtra and Karnataka, but fell by Rs 5-10 per quintal in Uttar Pradesh. According to sources, the quota allocation was higher in Uttar Pradesh, which continued to weigh on prices.
Demand appears to be flat, putting downward pressure on prices. Demand remains subdued, and sentiment is said to be deteriorating.
M-grade sugar costs between Rs 3,920 and Rs 4,030 per quintal in Muzaffarnagar, and S-grade sugar costs between Rs 3,715 and Rs 3,770 in Kolhapur.

At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #5 front month contract is trading at $464.70 ton, whereas the New York Sugar #11 front month contract is trading at 16.53 c/lb. The corn futures market trades at 436-4 and the ethanol Chicago trades at 1.66750s
Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices
The rupee traded against the US dollar at 85.676 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 5.5836 Crude WTI traded at $63.33 barrel. Sensex closed 746.95 points up at 82188.99 whereas Nifty closed 232.15 points higher at 25003.05
