Domestic Market

Sugar prices remained stable

Domestic sugar prices were reported to be mostly stable across the major

markets for the second session. Demand is said to be need based and lower monthly quota keeping demand and supply balanced which is keeping prices slighlty higher.

In Kolhapur, S-grade sugar costs between Rs 3,790 and Rs 3,850 per quintal, while M-grade sugar costs between Rs 4,000 and Rs 4,140 in Muzaffarnagar.

International Market

At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #5 front month contract is trading at $485.10 ton, whereas the New York Sugar #11 front month contract is trading at 17.16 c/lb. The corn futures market trades at 449-6 and the ethanol Chicago trades at 1.73500s

Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices

The rupee traded against the US dollar at 84.753 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 5.7207 Crude WTI traded at $59.36 barrel. Sensex closed 105.71 points up at 80,746.78 whereas Nifty closed 34.80 points higher at 24,414.40
