Domestic sugar prices were steady to weak
Sugar prices in the major domestic markets were reported stable to weak. Prices eased by ₹10–20 per quintal amid sluggish demand at elevated price levels in Uttar Pradesh while remained steady in Maharashtra and Karnataka. Prices are weighed down, as prices had rallied in Uttar Pradesh in the recent sessions. Despite the minor correction, prices continue to hover near multi-year highs, supported by tight stock availability and limited supply in the physical market.
Regionally, prices continue to show underlying firmness. In Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh), M-grade sugar is quoted between ₹4,050–₹4,140 per quintal, while in Kolhapur (Maharashtra), S-grade sugar is trading in the range of ₹3,830–₹3,880 per quintal.
