Steady to weak sentiment reported in Domestic sugar price
Domestic sugar prices were reported steady to weak across the major markets and hovering near a three-month high. Traders and millers are positioning themselves around expectations of a possible increase in the sugar MSP, while trade chatter continues to highlight the risk of lower-than-earlier-projected production in Maharashtra and Karnataka.
In North India, prices at Muzaffarnagar remained steady, reflecting a balanced spot market. M-grade sugar was quoted in the ₹4,020–₹4,120 per quintal range, lower by Rs 10-20 per quintal from the previous session. A similar pattern was visible in western India. At Kolhapur, a key benchmark center, S-grade sugar traded at ₹3,710–₹3,750 per quintal, lower by Rs 10 per quintal.
