Domestic Market
Domestic sugar prices remained stable

Domestic sugar prices continue to hold firm, hovering near a three-month high. The supply concerns have boosted mill confidence, supporting the prices. Additionally, onset of summer as temperatures are expected to remain above normal is likely to support the prices.

In North India, prices in Muzaffarnagar were steady, indicating a balanced spot market. M-grade sugar was quoted at ₹4,030–₹4,140 per quintal, unchanged from the previous session. At Kolhapur, a key benchmark market, S-grade sugar traded at ₹3,720–₹3,760 per quintal, also traded steady.

International Market

At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #The 5 front month contract is trading at $397.00 ton, whereas the New York Sugar # 11 The front month contract is trading at 13.83 c/lb. The corn futures market trades at 430-6 and the ethanol Chicago trades at 1.66250s.

Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices

The rupee traded against the US dollar at 90.595 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 5.2227 Crude WTI traded at $62.59 a barrel. Sensex closed 1,048.16 points down at 82.626.76 whereas Nifty closed 336.10 points lower at 25,471.10.
