Domestic Market
Domestic sugar prices were stable
After quoting weak for the last 2-3 sessions, domestic sugar prices in the major markets were reported to be stable. Demand is said to be sluggish, demand persisted at elevated price levels which is weighing on prices. As per sources, demand is said to be subdued which is weighing on the prices from the last 4-5 sessions. As prices have rallied more in Uttar Pradesh recently so prices are being weighed down more in Uttar Pradesh.
In Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh), M-grade sugar is quoted between ₹4,050 and ₹4,120 per quintal, while in Kolhapur (Maharashtra), S-grade sugar is trading in the range of ₹3,820–₹3,860 per quintal.

At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #The 5 front month contract is trading at $440.20ton, whereas the New York Sugar # 11 The front month contract is trading at 15.54 c/lb. The corn futures market trades at 413-0 and the ethanol Chicago trades at 1.86000s
Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices
The rupee traded against the US dollar at 88.678 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 5.4614 Crude WTI traded at $59.45 a barrel. Sensex closed 173.77 points down at 82,327.05 whereas Nifty closed 58.00 points lower at 25,227.35.
