Domestic Market
Domestic sugar prices started to fall again
After a steady session, domestic sugar prices in the major markets were reported to be lower by Rs 10-20 per quintal. Demand is said to be sluggish at elevated price levels which is weighing on prices. As per sources, demand is said to be subdued which is weighing on the prices from the last 4-5 sessions. As prices have rallied more in Uttar Pradesh recently, so prices are being weighed down more in Uttar Pradesh in comparison to Maharashtra.
In Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh), M-grade sugar is quoted between ₹4,040 and ₹4,120 per quintal, while in Kolhapur (Maharashtra), S-grade sugar is trading in the range of ₹3,810–₹3,850 per quintal.
International Market

Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices
The rupee traded against the US dollar at 88.772 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 5.5053 Crude WTI traded at $58.14 a barrel. Sensex closed 297.07 points down at 82,029.98 whereas Nifty closed 81.85 points lower at 25,145.50.
