Weak sentiment witnessed in domestic sugar prices
Sugar prices in the major domestic markets reported to be weak in the major markets. Prices in the major markets reported to be weaker by Rs 10 per quintal on dull off take. As prices are currently trading at multi-year highs stockists or end users are buying need based.
However, due to tight stock availability and an anticipated delay in the start of crushing operations, particularly in Karnataka. With the festive season approaching, demand is likely to stay strong, providing continued support to prices.
In Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, M-grade sugar is being traded in the range of ₹3,940–₹4,030 per quintal. Meanwhile, in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, S-grade sugar is quoted between ₹3,840 and ₹3,880 per quintal.
