Domestic Market
Domestic sugar prices were stable to higher

Domestic sugar prices remained largely stable in today’s trading session in the major markets of Maharashtra while traded higher in Uttar Pradesh. Prices are trading steady over the last 3-4 sessions after a continued downward trend in Maharashtra. As prices have corrected around Rs 2-3 per kg from the recent high, they are holding steady at the current levels.

In Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, M-grade sugar was quoted in the range of ₹3,879–₹3,970 per quintal, higher by Rs 15-20 per quintal. Meanwhile, in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, S-grade sugar traded at ₹3,530–₹3,580 per quintal quoting steady over the last 3-4 sessions.

International Market

At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #The 5 front month contract is trading at $424.20ton, whereas the New York Sugar # 11 The front month contract is trading at 14.78 c/lb. The corn futures market trades at 422-0 and the ethanol Chicago trades at 1.53500s.

Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices

The rupee traded against the US dollar at 90.725 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 5.3700 Crude WTI traded at $60.09 a barrel. Sensex closed 187.64 points down at 83,570.35 whereas Nifty closed 28.75 points lower at 25,694.35.
