Domestic Market
Domestic prices remained stable

Domestic sugar prices remained steady across major spot markets for the third consecutive session. Market sources indicated that despite a lower monthly release quota, buying interest remained subdued, keeping prices largely range-bound.

According to sugar production data released by Indian Sugar and Bio-energy Manufacturers Association (ISMA) up to 15 March 2026, Indian mills have produced 26.21 million metric tons (MMT) of sugar so far this season, reflecting a 10.5% increase year-on-year. Currently, 157 sugar mills are operational, compared with 182 mills during the same period last year.

In North India, M-grade sugar in Muzaffarnagar was quoted at ₹4,020–₹4,100 per quintal, unchanged from the previous session. Meanwhile, in western India, S-grade sugar in Kolhapur was quoted at ₹3,690–₹3,730 per quintal, with the market continuing to find support amid limited buying activity.
