Daily Sugar Market Update By Vizzie – 20/05/2025

ChiniMandi, Mumbai: 20th May 2025

Domestic Market

Prices for domestic sugar were stable to weak, reaching a two-month low.

Due to weak demand, domestic sugar prices continued their downward trend and are currently trading at a two-month low. While prices were largely stable in Northern India, Maharashtra and Karnataka were reported to have dropped by Rs 5 per quintal.

Despite the reduced monthly quota, the sources claim that demand is weak, which is driving up prices. Additionally, the Karnataka and Western Maharashtra cane belts are experiencing good rainfall activity so far this month, which is also keeping end users in a precarious situation.

M-grade sugar costs between Rs 3,950 and Rs 4,070 per quintal in Muzaffarnagar, while S-grade sugar costs between Rs 3,735 and Rs 3,790 per quintal in Kolhapur.
