Domestic sugar prices continue to trade higher
Domestic sugar prices continued to trade higher across major markets for the third consecutive session, supported by expectations of an increase in the Minimum Selling Price (MSP). Market sources indicate that the Indian government is likely to raise the MSP of sugar from the current ₹31 per kg to around ₹37–38 per kg.
In Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, M-grade sugar was quoted in the range of ₹3,950–₹4,080 per quintal, marking an increase of ₹20–30 per quintal from the previous session. Meanwhile, in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, S-grade sugar traded at ₹3,600–₹3,660 per quintal, up by around ₹30-40 per quintal.

At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #The 5 front month contract is trading at $423.60 ton, whereas the New York Sugar # 11 The front month contract is trading at 14.82 c/lb. The corn futures market trades at 427-0 and the ethanol Chicago trades at 1.56500s.
Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices
The rupee traded against the US dollar at 91.544 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 5.3543 Crude WTI traded at $60.36 a barrel. Sensex closed 270.84 points down at 81,909.637 whereas Nifty closed 75.00 points lower at 25,157.50.
