Domestic Market
Domestic sugar prices were stable to weak
Sugar prices in the major domestic markets reported to be stable to weak with prices falling by Rs 5-10 per quintal in Maharashtra and Karnataka. While prices were reported higher by Rs 10-15 per quintal in Uttar Pradesh. As the spread between Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh were narrowed it is widening with rise in prices in Uttar Pradesh.
Prices are currently trading at multi-year highs due to tight stock availability and an anticipated delay in the start of crushing operations, particularly in Karnataka. With the festive season approaching, demand is likely to stay strong, providing continued support to prices.
In Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, M-grade sugar is being traded in the range of ₹3,980–₹4,070 per quintal. Meanwhile, in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, S-grade sugar is quoted between ₹3,850 and ₹3,900 per quintal.

At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #The 5 front month contract is trading at $453.90 ton, whereas the New York Sugar # 11 The front month contract is trading at 15.41 c/lb. The corn futures market trades at 421-0 and the ethanol Chicago trades at 1.98250s
Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices
The rupee traded against the US dollar at 88.310 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 5.3413 Crude WTI traded at $61.83 a barrel. Sensex closed 466.26 points down at 82159.97 whereas Nifty closed 124.70 points lower at 25202.35
