Domestic Market
Domestic sugar prices were stable to higher
Domestic sugar prices were reported to be constant or rising in the major markets. Prices in Uttar Pradesh’s key markets have risen by Rs 10-20 per quintal. Prices were reported to be constant across the major centres due to strong purchasing activity. Prices are nearing a three-month low, and stockpiles remaining with millers are diminishing. As the festive season begins next month, demand is expected to stay high.
Over the previous 3-4 days, much-needed rains have been reported in the major cane growing regions of Marathwada and Solapur. These rains are likely to help crop regeneration to some extent. And the prognosis predicts good rains in various places, particularly Northern Karnataka, which could boost crop development.
M-grade sugar prices between Rs 3,890 and Rs 3,950 a quintal in Muzaffarnagar, and S-grade sugar costs between Rs 3,750 and Rs 3,780 in Kolhapur.
