Domestic Market
Domestic sugar prices were stable
Sugar prices in the major domestic markets reported to be stable across the major markets. As the spread between Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh were narrowed it is widening with rise in prices in Uttar Pradesh.
Prices are currently trading at multi-year highs due to tight stock availability and an anticipated delay in the start of crushing operations, particularly in Karnataka. With the festive season approaching, demand is likely to stay strong, providing continued support to prices.
In Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, M-grade sugar is being traded in the range of тВ╣3,980тАУтВ╣4,070 per quintal. Meanwhile, in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, S-grade sugar is quoted between тВ╣3,850 and тВ╣3,900 per quintal.

Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices
The rupee traded against the US dollar at 88.795 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 5.3441 Crude WTI traded at $63.12 a barrel. Sensex closed 57.87 points down at 82,102.10 whereas Nifty closed 32.85 points lower at 25,169.50.
