Domestic sugar prices were mixed
Domestic sugar prices were reported mixed across key regions, with weak sentiment prevailing in Kolhapur while Western Uttar Pradesh witnessed a firmer undertone. Prices were reported lower by about тВ╣10 per quintal in Maharashtra and Karnataka, whereas Uttar Pradesh markets recorded a rise of тВ╣10тАУ20 per quintal. In Maharashtra, prices remain under pressure due to ample availability as the crushing season progresses steadily. Additionally, the gap between export realizations and relatively higher domestic price levels is expected to continue weighing on overall market sentiment.
Spot prices in major physical markets reflected this subdued tone. In Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, M-grade sugar was quoted in the range of тВ╣3,940тАУтВ╣4,000 per quintal. Meanwhile, in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, S-grade sugar traded slightly lower at тВ╣3,610тАУтВ╣3,660 per quintal, extending the gradual decline observed over recent sessions.

Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices
The rupee traded against the US dollar at 89.573 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 5.5873 Crude WTI traded at $58.17 a barrel. Sensex closed 42.64 points down at 85,524.84 whereas Nifty closed 4.75 points higher at 26,177.15.
