Steady to higher sentiment witnessed in domestic sugar prices
Domestic sugar prices in the major markets were reported to be stable or higher. After a continuous fall in Uttar Pradesh, prices recovered by Rs 10-20 per quintal. They remained steady in Maharashtra and Karnataka for the third session.
Good rainfall activity has continued in the major cane-growing regions of Maharashtra and Karnataka, and monsoon activity is expected to remain heavy in Uttar Pradesh. Rainfall activity is likely to promote crop development. Monsoon covered most parts of Western Uttar Pradesh.
M-grade sugar costs between Rs 3,900 and Rs 3,950 per quintal in Muzaffarnagar, whereas S-grade sugar costs between Rs 3,700 and Rs 3,740 in Kolhapur.

At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #5 front month contract is trading at $476.50 ton, whereas the New York Sugar #11 front month contract is trading at 15.84 c/lb. The corn futures market trades at 412-4 and the ethanol Chicago trades at 1.64750s
Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices
The rupee traded against the US dollar at 86.128 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 5.5385 Crude WTI traded at $65.00 barrel. Sensex closed 700.40 points up at 82,755.51 whereas Nifty closed 200.40 points higher at 25,244.75
