Domestic Market
Steady to weak sentiment witnessed in domestic sugar prices

After remaining stable for the past five to six sessions, domestic sugar prices fell on sluggish off take ahead of the start of the crushing season. Prices cooled off by another Rs 10-20 per quintal as demand was reported to be muted. Moreover, with the commencement of the crushing season from next week, prices remain under pressure amid expectations of improved supplies. As crushing is likely to start from next week, prices are expected to remain under pressure.

In Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh), M-grade sugar was quoted in the range of ₹3,950–₹4,020 per quintal, while in Kolhapur (Maharashtra), S-grade sugar traded between ₹3,750 and ₹3,800 per quintal.
