Domestic sugar prices were reported to be stable to higher
Domestic sugar prices across major markets remained stable to higher, with Maharashtra and North Karnataka maintaining steady levels while Uttar Pradesh witnessed an increase of around ₹10-20 per quintal. The arrival of new-season sugar has helped support sentiment in northern markets, whereas subdued buying activity continues to exert pressure in Maharashtra.
In key physical markets, M-grade sugar in Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh) was quoted between ₹4,040 and ₹4,120 per quintal. In Kolhapur (Maharashtra), S-grade sugar traded in the range of ₹3,710–₹3,740 per quintal, indicating a stable to slightly weak pricing trend.

Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices
The rupee traded against the US dollar at 89.228 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 5.3886 Crude WTI traded at $58.62 a barrel. Sensex closed 313.70 points down at 84,587.01 whereas Nifty closed 74.70 points lower at 25884.80
