Domestic Market
Domestic sugar prices were mostly stable
Domestic sugar prices across major markets remained stable, with prices in Maharashtra, North Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh maintaining steady levels. The arrival of new-season sugar has helped support sentiment in northern markets, whereas subdued buying activity continues to exert pressure in Maharashtra.
In key physical markets, M-grade sugar in Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh) was quoted between ₹4,040 and ₹4,120 per quintal. In Kolhapur (Maharashtra), S-grade sugar traded in the range of ₹3,710–₹3,740 per quintal, indicating a stable to slightly weak pricing trend.

Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices
The rupee traded against the US dollar at 89.215 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 5.3808 Crude WTI traded at $57.83 a barrel. Sensex closed 1,022.50 points up at 85,609.51 whereas Nifty closed 320.50 points higher at 26,205.30.
