Domestic Market
Domestic sugar prices were mostly stable

Domestic sugar prices have reported to be stable across major markets for the last 3-4 sessions. Prices have rallied over the past week, on good demand and with the upcoming festive season, sustained demand is anticipated.

In an announcement on July 28, the Food Ministry allocated a monthly sugar quota of 22.5 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) for August 2025, which is lower than the quota allocated for August 2024.

In terms of pricing, M-grade sugar is currently selling between Rs 3,900 and Rs 3,960 per quintal in Muzaffarnagar, while S-grade sugar costs range from Rs 3,760 to Rs 3,790 in Kolhapur.

International Market

At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #5 front month contract is trading at $469.90 ton, whereas the New York Sugar # 11 The front month contract is trading at 16.27 c/lb. The corn futures market trades at 398-2 and the ethanol Chicago trades at 1.76000s

Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices

The rupee traded against the US dollar at 86.703 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 6.43884Crude WTI traded at $66.47 a barrel. Sensex closed 572.07 points down at 80,891.02 whereas Nifty closed 156.10 points lower at 24,680.90..
