Domestic Market
Domestic sugar prices started to fall again

After holding steady in the previous session, domestic sugar prices weakened amid sluggish demand, despite a reduced monthly release quota. With the crushing season set to begin shortly, market sentiment remains subdued on expectations of higher supply ahead.

The Food Ministry has set the November 2025 monthly sugar quota at 20 lakh tonnes, down 2 lakh tonnes year-on-year and 4 lakh tonnes month-on-month. This is the lowest allocation in the past 46 months, though officials deem it adequate given the absence of major festivals during the month.

In regional markets, M-grade sugar in Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh) was quoted at ₹3,940–4,000 per quintal, while S-grade sugar in Kolhapur (Maharashtra) traded in the range of ₹3,740–3,780 per quintal.
