Domestic sugar prices were stable to higher
After trending downward since mid-October, domestic sugar prices have stabilised over the past few sessions in Kolhapur. However, prices in Muzaffarnagar have inched higher by Rs 20-30 per quintal today.
Prices are currently holding steady amid subdued demand, with limited festive buying expected despite a lower monthly release quota. Market sentiment remains cautious as the sugarcane crushing season has started, heightening expectations of increased supply in the coming weeks.
In regional markets, M-grade sugar in Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh) was quoted at ₹3,960–4,030 per quintal, while S-grade sugar in Kolhapur (Maharashtra) traded in the range of ₹3,740–3,780 per quintal.

The rupee traded against the US dollar at 88.691 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 5.3572 Crude WTI traded at $60.15 a barrel. Sensex closed 519.34 points down at 83459.15 whereas Nifty closed 165.70 points lower at 25597.65
