Domestic Market
Domestic sugar prices were stable to higher
After declining since mid-October, domestic sugar prices have stabilised over the past few sessions in Kolhapur. In contrast, Muzaffarnagar has witnessed a modest uptick, with prices rising by ₹20 per quintal in the latest session and by ₹40–50 per quintal over the past three to four sessions.
Prices are currently steady amid subdued demand, with limited festive buying expected despite a lower monthly release quota. Market sentiment remains cautious as the sugarcane crushing season has commenced, raising expectations of increased supply in the coming weeks.
In regional markets, M-grade sugar in Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh) was quoted at ₹3,980–4,050 per quintal, while S-grade sugar in Kolhapur (Maharashtra) traded in the range of ₹3,740–3,780 per quintal.
