Domestic sugar prices were reported weak
Domestic sugar prices were reported to be weak on sluggish off take at higher price levels. Prices inched higher in the last week of July on lower monthly quota sharply and as end users are covered for the festive season demand from the end users are reported to be sluggish. Prices saw a weakness of Rs 10-20 per quintal across the major centers.
Currently, M-grade sugar is selling between Rs 3,980 and Rs 4,090 per quintal in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, while S-grade sugar prices in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, range from Rs 3,860 to Rs 3,900 per quintal.
