Domestic Market
Domestic sugar prices reported higher
After remaining stable to weak over the last 4-5 sessions, sugar prices in the major domestic markets were reported to be higher by Rs 10-20 per quintal on good demand. Prices are trading at multi year high on lower available stocks and reported higher by Rs 10 per quintal in Maharashtra and higher by Rs 10-20 per quintal in Uttar Pradesh.
As crushing is expected to delay and limited stocks left with the millers prices are expected to remain supported in the coming months. As festivals are lined up in the coming months, demand is expected to remain good supporting the prices.
In Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, M-grade sugar is trading between ₹3,960 and ₹4,050 per quintal, while in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, S-grade sugar is quoted in the range of ₹3,850 to ₹3,890 per quintal.

At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #5 front month contract is trading at $485.40 ton, whereas the New York Sugar # 11 The front month contract is trading at 15.84 c/lb. The corn futures market trades at 403-4 and the ethanol Chicago trades at 2.02000s
Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices
The rupee traded against the US dollar at 88.171 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 5.4196 Crude WTI traded at $62.85 a barrel. Sensex closed 314.02 points up at 81101.32 whereas Nifty closed 95.45 points higher at 24868.60
