The LC application of the sugar mill to import raw sugar has been rejected by the three commercial banks namely Social Islamic Bank Ltd, First Security Islami Bank and state-run commercial bank Agrani Bank.

A letter to the senior commerce secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh was sent by Brig Gen (Retd) Sarwar Jahan Takukder, adviser of the Deshbandhu Group on Wednesday urging him to take necessary steps to ask these banks to open LC documents for the sugar mill.
