The Egyptian cabinet, led by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, has approved the supply prices for key strategic crops for the 2025-2026 agricultural season, according to an official statement.
The crops covered by this decision include wheat, sugarcane, and sugar beets.
The supply price for sugarcane has been fixed at EGP 2,500 per ton, while sugar beets were priced at EGP 2,000 per ton.
The supply price for an ardeb of wheat has been set at EGP 2,250, EGP 2,300, and EGP 2,350, based on cleanliness grades of 22.5, 23, and 23.5, respectively.
These new prices reflect the government’s ongoing strategy to respond to current economic shifts, enhance food security, and reduce reliance on imports.
