FMC India launches insecticide Tirracto for sugarcane

FMC India has launched a new insecticide, Tirracto, in Pune, aimed at offering comprehensive protection to sugarcane crops. The product is positioned as a “one-shot” solution to combat a wide spectrum of pests affecting the crop.

Tirracto is a novel premix formulation that combines Rynaxypyr (Group 28) and Clothianidin (Group 4A), delivering both systemic and contact action against pests. The combination is designed to provide broad-spectrum control and is particularly effective against termites and white grubs.

According to the company, the insecticide ensures strong and long-lasting protection from key sugarcane pests such as white grubs, termites, early shoot borers, and top shoot borers. This sustained control supports improved crop establishment, increased tillering, and higher yields, without adversely affecting soil health.

The launch event was attended by around 120 leading retailers and distributors from the sugarcane segment.
