A cargo ship carrying rice and sugar from Jamnagar caught fire at Subhashnagar Jetty in Porbandar on Monday. Firefighters swiftly responded with three tenders, and as the flames intensified, the vessel, bound for Bosaso, Somali, was towed into open waters to minimize further damage.
According to a report by news agency ANI, the ship, which belongs to Jamnagar-based HRM & Sons, loaded with rice and sugar, caught fire, and three fire brigade vehicles arrived at the scene. The ship was towed to the middle of the sea as the fire became severe due to its load of rice. The ship was bound for Bosaso, Somalia.

A video shared by ANI shows thick black smoke and flames billowing from the ship docked.
As per the news report, the fire is believed to have started in the engine room, from where thick black smoke spread across the sea.
