India Sugar & Bio-energy Conference 2025: ISMA to unite industry leaders, policy makers for 3rd edition of its flagship event

The Indian Sugar & Bio-Energy Manufacturers Association (ISMA) is all set to host the 3rd edition of ‘The India Sugar & Bio-Energy Conference’ on 11th & 12th September 2025 at JW Marriott, Aerocity, New Delhi. This year’s theme, ‘Energising Economies: The Global Impact of Indian Sugar’, will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, researchers, and stakeholders to explore the role of India’s sugar and bio-energy sectors in driving economic growth, energy transformation and global sustainability.

The 2025 edition of the conference will be inaugurated in the presence of Honourable Ministers Pralhad Joshi (Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution & New & Renewable Energy, Government of India) and Nitin Gadkari (Union Minister, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India and Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya (Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India).

The ceremony will also witness the official launch of the Study on Sugar Consumption, Roadmap of SAF in India and anniversary edition of ISMA Times – the apex body’s dedicated magazine that captures all the potential trends about the sugar and bio-energy industry.

In addition to the Ministers, the conference will be enriched by insights from senior government leaders. Sanjeev Chopra (Secretary, Department of Food & Public Distribution) and Sunil Bharthwal (Secretary, Ministry of Commerce & Industry) will join as Guest of Honour, while Pankaj Jain (Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas) will deliver Special Address. Ashwini Srivastava (Joint Secretary – Sugar, Movement, Department of Food & Public Distribution) will share his perspectives, adding further depth to the discussions.

The key conference sessions will include several important topics such as ‘Global Sugar Outlook: Navigating Market Shifts, analysis of supply-demand dynamics, trade regulations, and pricing trends, etc. Other sessions will explore India’s clean aviation efforts, the use of sugarcane ethanol in Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), and the use of ethanol to decarbonize road transportation. Other sessions will examine India’s policies regarding sugar and bioenergy, improvements in sugarcane breeding initiatives, the use of AI and new technology developments in supply chain management and sustainable production.

The conference will further emphasise the productivity driven by farmers and collaborative efforts around the world while providing a comprehensive, forward-looking perspective on the industry’s evolution.
