The Indian Sugar & Bio-Energy Manufacturers Association (ISMA) today announced a change in its leadership following its Annual General Meeting, marking a new chapter in the Association’s journey.
ISMA welcomed Niraj Shirgaokar as the President and Madhav Banshidhar Shriram as the Vice President of the Association for the ensuing term. The leadership transition reflects ISMA’s strong institutional framework and its commitment to continuity, collaboration, and progressive governance.
The Association placed on record its sincere appreciation for the contributions of the outgoing President, Gautam Goel, whose leadership played a significant role in advancing policy engagement, strengthening the ethanol blending programme, and steering the industry through a period of significant market and regulatory developments.
Under the new leadership, ISMA will continue to work closely with the Government of India and key stakeholders to address pressing industry challenges while advancing a forward-looking agenda focused on economic viability, sustainability, diversification, and technology-led growth.
Speaking on the occasion, Niraj Shirgaokar, newly elected President, ISMA, said: “I am honoured to take on the responsibility of leading ISMA at this important juncture for the sugar and bio-energy sector. We will continue to engage constructively with policymakers and stakeholders to address immediate concerns while building a resilient, future-ready industry.”
Madhav Banshidhar, Vice President, ISMA, added: “ISMA has a critical role to play in shaping the next phase of growth for the sector. Our focus will remain on strengthening the ethanol ecosystem, encouraging diversification, and promoting innovation and sustainability across the value chain.”
